Discussion :: Simplification
- In a garden, there are 10 rows, and 12 columns of mango trees. The distance between two trees is 2 meters and, a distance of 1 meter is left from all sides of the boundary of the garden. What is the length of the garden?
Answer : Option C
Explanation :
Each row contains 12 plants as there are 12 columns of mango trees.
Between 12 trees in a row, there are 11gaps.
1 gap = 2 m
So, the length of total gap between 12 trees = 2 * 11 = 22 m
As per the question, 1 meter on each side is left.
So, the length of the garden = 22m + 1 + 1 = 24 meters.
