Difference between the two expenditures = Rs .[ $\frac { 17.5 } { 100 }$ - $\frac { 12.5 } { 100 }$ ]

= Rs [ $\frac { 5X } { 100 }$ ]

and so, the required percentage = [ $\frac { 5X/100 } { 12.5X/100 }$ x 100 ]% = 40%
